Out here in Renukoot, things move at their own pace. Our shop is right near the ESI hospital, so a lot of people pass by every day. We’ve been operating this trading spot for a bit, mostly dealing with what people need for their local projects. The district of Sonbhadra can get really hot, which makes the work a bit tough during the middle of the day. We usually open up early to get things moving before the sun gets too high. There is always someone coming in asking for prices or checking if we have enough stock left for their house. It’s not a very big operation, just a few of us making sure things are where they should be. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to drivers who bring the supplies in. Sometimes the trucks get delayed on the roads around here, which can be frustrating, but we deal with it as it happens. Our space is crowded with bags and materials, and it’s not always the neatest place, but we know where everything is kept. People from the village know they can find us here six days a week. There isn't a big marketing plan or anything. We just talk to the neighbors and the local builders who’ve been coming to us for years. It’s a basic way to run a business, but it works for us.
