Our facility is located at C-57 in the MIDC area of Baramati, which is part of the Pune district in Maharashtra. Being in an industrial zone means there are always trucks moving around and the sound of heavy machinery in the distance. Venture Steels Pvt.Ltd. has a fair amount of space, but it always feels full because of the large stacks of steel we keep on site. The sun in Baramati can be very strong, so the metal gets hot to the touch if it is left near the open doors. We have a small crew of people who have been here for years. We know the routines inside out. The day starts with checking the inventory and seeing what needs to be moved or loaded onto the transport trucks. There is no air conditioning in the main work area, so we rely on the big vents in the roof to keep the air moving. It is a lot of physical work, lifting and shifting things around all day. We have a small room in the back where we keep our bags and eat our lunch together. Usually, someone brings a radio so we have some music playing in the background to break up the sound of the metal clashing. It is a straightforward business, and we don't spend much time on anything that isn't related to the steel. We just keep our heads down and make sure the orders are ready when the drivers show up at the gate.
