Haldahivadi is a small place in Sangola, and that’s where we operate. Our name is quite long because we cover a lot—goat and sheep rearing, buying and selling, and also Napier grass. Sangola is known for being a bit dry, so the grass part is very important for the animals. We don’t have a big corporate building. Most of our work happens on the ground, literally. We are often out looking at the livestock or checking how the grass is growing. Napier grass is a big part of what we do because you can't have healthy goats or sheep without good feed. It’s a lot of outdoor work and it’s physically tiring. We don't sit behind desks much. The office is just a small room where we keep the records and handle the money. We deal with local farmers and people looking to buy animals. It’s a very direct business. No fancy talk, just looking at the health of the animal and deciding on a fair price. We’ve been part of the Haldahivadi community for a long time. People come to us because we are right here in the village. It’s a simple cycle of growing feed and taking care of the animals. We just do our job and hope the rains are good each year so the grass stays green.
