Young Himalayan Apple Farms Private Limited is situated right near the Uco Bank building in Anti. It’s a small spot in the Tehsil of Jubbal. Being up here means we are surrounded by hills and, of course, apple trees. The office is easy to find because everyone knows the bank. We spend most of our time out in the orchards rather than sitting behind a desk. When we are inside, we are usually checking the weather reports or sorting out the boxes. The air is crisp up here in P O Anti. We started this because we know apples and we know this soil. It’s not a huge commercial operation with a lot of marketing. It’s just us growing and selling what we can. The building is older, with some cracks in the plaster, but it keeps the rain out. We use the basement for some of the storage. Working in Jubbal is great, but the winters can be tough. We have to make sure the trees are ready for the frost. Our team is small, mostly just family and a few neighbors who help out during the picking season. We don't have a receptionist. If you come by, just knock on the side door. We are usually around somewhere, either in the back or over by the bank. It's a quiet life but we enjoy being outdoors. The harvest time is the busiest, and we barely get any sleep.
