Anupam Hotel

Rohru is a quiet place, and being near the Forest Office on Jangla Road makes it even quieter. Anupam Hotel is on the ground floor of the Dinesh Building. It’s a simple setup with a few rooms for travelers. Because we’re in Shimla district, the weather gets really cold during the winter, so we spend a lot of time making sure there are enough heavy blankets and that the geysers are working. The building itself is plain, just a regular concrete structure among the trees and other small shops. We don't have a fancy lobby with a fountain or a bellboy. It’s just a desk where we sit and wait for guests to arrive from the bus stand. Sometimes travelers get lost looking for Jangla Road, so we have to go out and wave them down when we see them wandering. Life here is slow. We spend a lot of our day just drinking tea and keeping the place tidy. The view outside isn't anything like the big resorts, but you can see the hills and the trees clearly. We handle the cleaning, the cooking, and the check-ins ourselves. It’s a small operation. Most people who stay here are just passing through for work or to see the forest area. We don't have much in the way of room service or extras. It’s just a basic place to sleep when you’re in the mountains and need a rest.
