Kanchan Cutlery

Kanchan Cutlery is tucked away in the Sheoganj 16 area. We sell all sorts of small things like needles, thread, bangles, and ribbons. It’s the kind of shop where you go when you need a specific button or a new comb. We have boxes piled high on every shelf, and sometimes it takes me a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for. It’s a bit of a mess, honestly, but I know where everything is hidden. My daughter helps me out after her school is over. We don't have a lot of space, so most of the stuff is hanging from the ceiling or stacked on the floor. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we get a lot of local women coming in to look at the latest earring designs. We don't have any big signs or bright lights to attract people. Most people just find us by walking through the lanes. It can get pretty hot in here during the summer afternoons, so we keep a small fan running by the stool. We’ve been in Sheoganj 16 for quite some time now. It’s a small family business and we like it that way. We don't try to compete with the big stores in the main market. We just provide the little things that people need for their homes and their clothes. It's simple work and it keeps us connected to the people around us.
