Vinayak Cutlary

Our shop is up on the first floor of the R K Complex here in Sheoganj. It’s unit 108. Being upstairs means we don’t get as many walk-ins as the shops on the ground floor, but people who need kitchen stuff know to come up the stairs to find us. We have a lot of stainless steel items—spoons, forks, knives, and those little spice boxes every kitchen needs. The sunlight comes in through the side window in the afternoon and hits the metal, making everything sparkle for an hour or two. It gets quite hot in here because the breeze doesn't reach this part of the complex very well. We have a small table where we keep the accounts and a couple of plastic chairs for customers who want to sit down while they decide which set of plates to buy. The R K Complex is a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it, and sometimes people wander into our shop looking for the tailor or the mobile repair guy. We just point them in the right direction. We’ve been here since the complex was relatively new. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound on its highest setting, but it works well enough. We just keep things simple and try to keep everything organized on the shelves so we can find things quickly when someone asks.
