Being right at the Sheoganj Bus Stand means there is never a dull moment throughout the day. The buses are always pulling in and out, and there's a lot of shouting and horns honking from early morning till late. Our shop is small, just enough for the chairs and a small wooden bench for people to wait on. We get a mix of local people and travelers who just hopped off a bus and need a quick haircut or a shave before they head to their next meeting. It’s a dusty spot because of the main road, so we are constantly dusting the mirrors and the counter with a cloth. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that hums quite a bit when it's on high speed. It’s a simple life here. We start early in the morning when the first long-distance buses arrive and stay open until the evening rush finally dies down. You hear a lot of interesting stories from people passing through town. Some are in a huge hurry, others just want to sit and rest their feet for a bit while they get a clean shave. We keep our tools sharp and ready for the next customer. There isn’t much space for anything extra in here, so we just focus on the hair and the shaves. It’s a busy little corner of Sheoganj, and we’ve become a familiar sight for the regular drivers and commuters who use the bus stand every single day.
