Subh Syawani Rural Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in the village of Syawani. Smt Kanchan Vishwakarma looks after the main office there. We are a rural group, which means we are far away from the big city noise. Our lives are mostly about the fields and the animals. We started this company because we wanted to have more control over how our crops are sold. It’s hard to do that when you are just one person. In Syawani, we all know each other anyway, so forming a producer company felt like a natural step. We don't have any polished speeches or marketing tricks. We just know how to work the land. The dirt under our fingernails tells the real story. Some seasons are better than others, and we've learned to save for the lean times. We spend a lot of time talking to the older farmers to see what they remember about the weather years ago. It’s a community thing more than a business thing. We gather at the village office to discuss which seeds to buy and how to share the transport costs. It isn't always perfect and we have our disagreements, but we stay focused on the work. That is just how it is in a small village like ours where everyone relies on the ground for their living.
