Singrouli Pulses Farmer Producer Company Limited started because we wanted to do things our own way. We are located at Ram Narayan Singhkursa’s place. It’s not a big corporate building, just a spot where we can meet and talk about our crops. We deal with pulses, which is what most of us have been growing for years anyway. The weather is always a topic of conversation here. If it rains too much or too little, everything changes for us. We spend our mornings checking the fields and our afternoons dealing with the business side of things. It’s a lot of work to keep everyone on the same page. We are just local farmers, not businessmen from the city, so we speak plainly. We don’t have fancy brochures or a marketing team. We just have our hands and the land.
