Sign Asia is tucked away in B/1/5 of Jajodia Market. Being right on S F Road in the middle of Siliguri Bazar means it’s always chaotic outside. The Dist-Darjeeling area is known for being busy, and Jajodia Market is no different. Our shop isn't very big, so we have to be careful about where we put everything. We make signs for all sorts of people. You’ll see vinyl rolls and metal frames leaning against the walls. There’s a constant smell of ink and glue in the air. We’ve been here long enough that we know all the other shopkeepers around. Sometimes we trade stories over tea while waiting for a machine to finish its run. It’s a lot of work to keep up with the pace of the bazar. We don’t really do any big marketing for ourselves because the foot traffic on S F Road keeps us pretty occupied. People just see our signs and walk in to ask about prices. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just a few of us trying to get the orders out on time. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to wait it out. That’s just life in Siliguri. We do our best with what we’ve got and keep the shop running as long as the market is open. It’s a decent living and we like being here in the mix of things.
