Roop Hotel

Siliguri is always a bit crowded, especially around the Sevoke Market area. We have been here for a while now, right on Sevoke Road where all the noise and business happens. It’s not a quiet place, but it is right in the middle of everything. If you are heading up to Darjeeling or just doing some shopping in the market, you probably walked past our door a few times. The hotel itself is just a regular building. We keep the rooms ready and try to make sure the water is running and the lights work fine. Some days are busier than others. When the market is in full swing, it gets really loud outside, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We have staff who have been with us for years. They know the regulars. We don’t have fancy carpets or anything like that. It’s just a place to sleep and keep your bags while you go about your work. Sometimes the traffic on Sevoke Road makes it hard to pull up right at the front, but people manage anyway. We spend most of our mornings checking the registers and making sure the lobby is swept up. It’s a lot of work running a place here, but we are used to the pace by now. If you need a spot that’s close to the main road, this is basically where we are. Nothing more to it.
