Our site is out on NH 31D in Ghoshpukur, Salsalabari. It is in the Darjeeling district. Since we are right on the national highway, there is always the sound of trucks and big vehicles passing by at all hours. It is a very different environment compared to being in a city center. Out here in Salsalabari, things are spread out more. We have a lot of space to work with, which is necessary for the kind of scale we deal with. It is dusty and can get quite muddy when it rains, which happens a lot in this part of the country. We are not an office with carpets and glass walls. It is more about boots on the ground and getting things built or moved. People think of Darjeeling and think of tea gardens, but out here by Ghoshpukur, it is more about the transit and the road. We have a small crew that stays on site and handles the daily tasks. It is hard work and the days can be long depending on what the project needs. We do not really have a lobby for visitors. If you come by, you will probably find us near the equipment or in the temporary sheds we use for meetings. It is a practical setup meant for getting the job done under the sun and the rain. That is just how life is on the NH 31D.
