Don Bosco School is located on Sevoke Road in Siliguri. This is a very busy part of town because it is a main artery heading towards the hills and the border areas. You can often feel a bit of a breeze coming down from the mountains, but mostly you just hear the sound of trucks and horns from the road. The school is a large complex with a lot of open ground which is good for the football matches the boys like to play. The buildings are painted in a light color and have long balconies where students stand during their breaks. We have a lot of staff who have been here for decades, so there is a lot of routine to how things are done. The halls are often filled with the sound of shoes echoing on the tiles. We don't have a lot of modern decorations, just the usual boards with notices and student work pinned up. The rainy season in Siliguri can be quite heavy, so we spend a lot of time making sure the roofs aren't leaking and the drains are clear. It is a sturdy place that has seen a lot of weather. During the day, it is a hive of activity with bells ringing every forty minutes. It’s a practical, no-nonsense school where the focus is just on getting through the day's work.
