Nahar Singh Agro Farms

Working out here at Nahar Singh Agro Farms on the NH-11 near Ringas is different than being in the middle of town. You can hear the big trucks downshifting as they approach the turnoff all day and night. It’s an open space, so the wind really picks up sometimes and blows dirt across the yard. We spend most of our time outdoors or in the large shed where the equipment is kept. It’s hard work, and your clothes are usually dirty by nine in the morning. We don’t have an office with air conditioning or anything like that. We just have a small room with a wooden table and a few ledgers where we keep track of things. My family has been involved in this for a while, and we just keep going with the seasons. When it rains, everything slows down and the ground gets muddy, making it tough to move the heavier machinery. We don't really have customers in the way a shop does; it's more about the people we deal with for the farm needs. The days are long, starting before the sun is fully up, but it’s quiet once the highway traffic thins out at night. We just focus on the land and what needs to be done today. It isn't a glamorous life, but it’s what we do here on the side of NH-11. We just keep our heads down and get the job finished.
