If you come looking for us, we are at House No.111 in the village of Katar. It’s right near Chetiya Murar in the Shrawasti area. Ham Kadam is just a group of us who live nearby and work the land. We decided to put this company together because doing everything alone was getting too expensive and frustrating. We share tools and talk about what crops are growing well this year. It's not a formal place. You'll usually find someone sitting outside the house talking about the rain or the price of fertilizer. We have a lot of farmers here who have been doing this for generations. Shrawasti is a quiet place and we like it that way, but we needed a way to handle the business side of things. We don't have a secretary or anything like that. We just keep our notes in some ledgers and try to stay organized. Some of the younger guys are helping with the newer rules. It’s a lot of work on top of the actual farming. We focus on the local stuff, like making sure the grain gets to where it needs to go without losing money on every turn. Sometimes the meetings take a long time because everyone has an opinion. But that's how it works when you're all neighbors. We just want to keep the village farms going for another year without too much trouble. It is a simple life and we are just trying to keep it that way.
