Trip Orgs Destination Management

We are located out in Chakar, right along the Shimla-Manali Highway. It’s a good spot because we see everyone passing through on their way to the higher mountains. Trip Orgs Destination Management sounds like a big name, but we’re really just a small group of people working out of this office. We spend most of our time on the phone or looking at maps of Himachal. The highway outside is always loud with trucks and tourists, which keeps things interesting. We’ve been in this spot for a bit now, managing things for people who want to see the sights. It isn’t always easy, especially when the monsoon hits or the roads get tricky, but we manage. We don't have any corporate offices or polished receptionists. Our desks are usually piled with notes and local guidebooks. We try to be practical about everything. If a road is closed, we tell you it's closed. We don't sugarcoat how long it takes to get to Manali from here. It’s a long drive, and the traffic near the tunnel can be a real pain. We just want to make sure people know what they're getting into when they plan a trip. It’s honest work and we like being part of the local community here in Chakar. Most days, we’re just drinking coffee and making sure all the bookings are lined up correctly. It’s a lot of juggling, but we like the pace of it.
