Our office is over in Dev Nagar, which is part of the Kasumpti area. It's a bit away from the main tourist spots in Shimla, which makes it easier to park sometimes. We started this tour business because we know the local tracks and the hidden spots that the big companies usually miss. It’s just a small room with some posters on the wall and a couple of old computers. We spend a lot of time talking to people on the phone about their travel plans. Usually, it's families looking for a car or a small group wanting to see the local temples. We don't have a big fleet of cars, just a few reliable ones we use for the trips. My brother helps with the driving and I handle the bookings and the paperwork. Kasumpti is a hilly neighborhood, so we do a lot of walking up and down the stairs to get things done. Sometimes we are out of the office showing people around, so the door might be locked for an hour or two. We just try to make sure people get where they need to go without too much fuss. It’s a simple way of making a living. We know the taxi union rules and the road conditions better than most folks. If you come by, we can tell you which roads are currently under repair. We keep some old photos of the valley pinned to the wall to show people what they can expect.
