You can find us at Khalsa Niwas in Ram Bazar. This part of Shimla is always packed with people, especially in the mornings when the market is in full swing. Tourism In Himachal is the name we go by, and we’ve been tucked away in this building for a long time. Ram Bazar is one of those old-school places where the lanes are narrow and you can smell everything from fresh vegetables to spices. Our office is a bit old-fashioned, just like the building itself. We have a desk, some old wooden chairs, and a lot of brochures that have been sitting around for a while. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the local area well. People often wander in because they got lost in the bazar or they saw our sign while shopping for groceries. We spend our time talking to people about the best ways to see the mountains without spending too much money. Sometimes the power goes out in the bazar and we just sit and talk by candlelight until it comes back on. It’s a very local way of doing things, and we like it that way. We don't have a website that’s updated every day or anything like that. We just prefer talking to people face to face and helping them figure out their travel plans while we drink tea in the office.
