Mountains Journey

You can find us at Chandel Niwas on Symetry Road in Sanjauli. We are pretty close to the Dhalli Tunnel as well, which is a landmark everyone recognizes around here. Mountains Journey isn't a big operation with hundreds of employees. We are just a small group working out of a room in the building here. The road outside can get quite narrow and during the peak months, it is full of cars and people walking up to the market. We mostly spend our time planning out routes for people who want to see the deeper parts of the state. We’ve lived in Shimla a long time, so we know which roads are blocked by landslides and which ones are clear. Our office has a bit of a homey feel because it’s in a residential-style building. There is usually someone around to answer the phone or talk to a walk-in guest about local spots. We don’t use any fancy software for everything; a lot of it is just knowing the local contacts and having the right people on the ground. Sanjauli is a bit of a climb, and being on Symetry Road gives us a decent view of the hills when the mist clears out. It is a quiet enough place to get work done when the traffic isn't backed up. We just handle the day-to-day stuff of running tours and making sure visitors find their way around the mountains safely. We don't try to make things sound more impressive than they are.
