Great Himalayan Travels

We’ve been running Great Himalayan Travels from our spot in Fingask Estate for a while now. It’s a quiet enough area near the Kali Bari Temple, though the walk up can be a bit steep if you aren’t used to Shimla hills. We mostly spend our mornings checking the cars and making sure everyone knows where they’re heading for the day. Living and working here in Shimla East means we see a lot of different people coming through. Sometimes the weather gets a bit messy with the rain, but that’s just how it is in the mountains. We don’t have a big fancy setup, just a small place where we keep our keys and logs. Most of the guys here grew up on these roads, so they know the shortcuts around the temple and down towards the main town. It’s hard work sometimes, especially during the peak season when the traffic gets heavy. We usually have some tea sitting out front while we wait for the phone to ring. We don’t do a lot of fancy talking, we just try to get folks where they need to go without too much fuss. If you’re walking near the temple, you’ve probably seen our boards. We keep things pretty simple here. It’s just us, a few cars, and a lot of driving back and forth across the ridges. We’ve seen the town change over the years, but the hills stay the same.
