Country Travel Point

Our place is called Country Travel Point and we are located in Sharma Niwas. It is tucked away in Village Jhanjhiri which is part of the New Shimla area. It is a bit different from the crowded streets near the Ridge or Mall Road. Jhanjhiri has more of a local neighborhood feel to it. We run our travel business from here, mostly helping people figure out how to get around the region. Since we are in 171009, we see a lot of the local residents more than the passing tourists. The office itself is quite plain. We have a couple of desks and some old files where we keep track of everything. It’s not the kind of place you’d find in a big city center. We spend a lot of our time on the phone with drivers or arranging transport for families. Sometimes people come by just to ask for directions or advice on which village to visit next. We like being in New Shimla because it feels a bit more relaxed than the main town. Working out of Sharma Niwas is practical for us. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us doing the work every day, making sure the cars are ready and the schedules are set. We’ve been here for a while and most people in the village know who we are and what we do for a living. It’s just a normal way to earn a living in the hills.
