Kohal Niwas in the Khalini area of Shimla is where you will find us. Being in Shimla 2 means dealing with the hills every single day. The air is thinner here and when the rain comes, it really pours. We have to be extra careful with the Ambuja Cement bags because moisture is the enemy in this kind of climate. Our office is basically just a room in Kohal Niwas. It’s a quiet spot compared to the main mall road, but we still get plenty of foot traffic. The trucks have to climb those steep roads to get here, and sometimes in the winter when there is a bit of snow or ice, things slow down quite a lot. We just sit here with a heater on and wait for the deliveries to arrive. It’s a small operation, mostly just keeping track of who needs what for their house repairs or new builds up the slope. You can see the trees and the valley from near the building, which is nice when you take a break. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy, just the work we do. It’s a lot of manual labor, moving things around and making sure the inventory matches the books. It gets dark early in the mountains, so we usually wrap things up as the sun starts to dip. It’s just a normal day for us here in Khalini with the cold air and the steep walks.
