Acc Ltd.

This office is right in the middle of everything at the Gagal Cement Works. We are part of the Deptt Kiln Maintenance for Acc Ltd. If you have ever been to Barmana in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, you know it is a heavy industrial area but it is surrounded by those big, beautiful hills. Our daily life involves a lot of dust and the constant sound of machinery running. It is definitely not a place for clean shoes or white shirts. We spend most of our time making sure the kiln keeps running like it should. Our office is more of a base of operations than a typical corporate setting. We have tools lying around and technical manuals stacked on the metal shelves. It is a very practical and rugged environment. We do not have much time for fancy talk. There is a lot of physical work involved, and we are often out on the factory floor instead of sitting behind a desk. The air up here in HP is different, even with the factory nearby. We have been at this Barmana site for a long time. Everyone knows everyone else on the shift. It is a community of workers. We focus on the equipment and the daily maintenance schedules. If something breaks down, we get together and fix it. It is a simple, hardworking life. We do not have any polished lobby, just a room where we plan the next shift.
