Umerpur Farmer Producer Company Limited is a small outfit we run out of Shamli. The office is at Rishipal’s house, and he is the son of Sh. Ilamchand. We are located in VPO Umerpur, and our pin code is 247772. This part of the country is famous for its farming, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to make a living. We formed this group because we were tired of getting the short end of the stick when it came to selling our harvest. Now, we try to pool our resources together. It’s not a corporate headquarters by any means. It’s just a house where we keep our ledgers and meet up after we’ve finished our work in the fields. Sometimes the meetings go on for a long time because everyone has a different opinion on what we should do next. We talk a lot about the price of fuel and the cost of fertilizers. Shamli can be a busy place, but out here in Umerpur, things move a bit slower. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or big goals to change the world. We just want to make sure that the people in our village can get a fair deal for their hard work. It’s a lot of manual labor and a lot of talking, but it’s our life. We hope that by working together, we can save a bit of money and maybe buy some better equipment for everyone to use.
