Satnam Brick Field

We started Satnam Brick Field a while back here in Bhedpur. It sits right on Bareilly Road in the Sadar taluka area. Most days involve getting the clay ready and making sure the kilns are running right. It's dusty work but we stay busy. People from around the village know where we are. We just focus on getting the bricks out. Sometimes the weather makes it hard, especially during the rains when the ground gets muddy. We spend a lot of time checking the fires. It’s not fancy. The trucks come and go all day taking loads to different building sites nearby. We’ve got a small crew here. Everyone knows their job, whether it’s stacking or firing. We’ve been at this spot for some time now. You can see the chimneys from a bit of a distance if you’re driving down the main road. The soil here is good for what we do. We just keep our heads down and work. It's just a regular brick field. We don't have a big office or anything, just the space where we work and store the finished piles. If you pass through Bhedpur, you'll see us. It stays pretty loud with the tractors moving. We try to keep things moving along every day. It’s how we spend our time here on Bareilly Road. Just making bricks and loading them up. That is pretty much what happens here every day. The sound of the tractor engines is something you get used to. We don’t really have a set closing time. We just stop when the work is done.
