Our group, Omdagarh Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited, is based right here in Ward No 20 in Gram Khunttehsil. We operate out of Tam Singh’s place. Seoni is a good place for farming but it has its challenges like anywhere else. We are a bunch of local farmers who decided it was better to work as one unit instead of everyone doing their own thing. It gets lonely out there in the fields and when you go to sell your stuff, the middleman usually takes too much of the profit. So we put this company together to handle things together. We are just regular people, not businessmen in suits with fancy degrees. You'll usually find us with dirt under our fingernails and worn-out shoes. We talk about the weather a lot because that’s what really matters most to us at the end of the day. The address is easy to find if you’re in Barghat. We’ve been living here all our lives and know these lands well. We handle whatever crops are in season and try to get a fair shake for everyone involved in the group. It’s not perfect and we learn as we go, but it’s ours. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby, just a desk and some old chairs where we meet up. It’s about keeping the farming life going in our district. We just want to make a living and keep our farms running for the next generation. That's the whole point of why we started this.
