Narshing Kheda Farmer Producer Company Limited operates out of Mr. Hemraj’s house in the Narsingh Kheda area of Sehore. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but it’s right in the middle of where the farming happens. Hemraj is a well-known guy around here, so using his place made sense for everyone involved. We have a porch where we sit and go over the accounts while watching the clouds to see if it’s going to rain. Sehore can get very dry, so we spend a lot of time worrying about water. The office itself is just a desk and a few stools. There’s a shelf with some old farming manuals and a few jars of soil samples. We aren't a big corporation with people in suits and ties. We wear our work clothes because half the time we’ve just come from the fields. Narshing Kheda Farmer Producer Company Limited is our way of making sure the small farmers in Bhaukhedi don't get overlooked. We handle the collection and the transport of the produce. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and long hours, especially during the harvest months when the sun is high. Sometimes the tea runs out and someone has to bike down to the local shop to get more. It’s just a normal part of life here. We don't have any big secrets or special tricks, just hard work and a bit of luck with the weather.
