Swagath Hair Salon

Our shop is at SRT 389 in Ashok Nagar. If you are looking for us, we are in the lane opposite the Andhra Bank, right near the Geetanjali High School. Because of the school, we get a lot of kids and parents passing by every morning and afternoon. Swagath Hair Salon is a local spot where we have gotten to know most of the people on the street. It is a simple setup with the usual barber chairs and big mirrors that have seen a lot of years. We aren't trying to be a high-end lounge; we are just a neighborhood hair salon. The floor is usually covered in bits of hair until we sweep it at the end of the day. We have a small radio that usually plays the local stations while we work. Ashok Nagar is a settled area, so we see the same faces every month. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that is just how things are here in Hyderabad. We use basic tools and traditional methods for most of our cuts. It is a steady job and we enjoy the conversations about the weather or the price of groceries. If you need a seat, there is a small stool by the door. We just stay focused on the hair and the people in our community. That is how it has always been for us.
