Shehnaz

We are at 4-3-77/2 on Hill Street in Ranigunj. It’s a busy little spot in a very hectic part of town. People call the shop Shehnaz. We don't have a big corporate story to tell. We just opened up here because it seemed like a good place to reach people. The street outside is always noisy with bikes and autos zipping past. We have a lot of different things inside the shop. Some days are slow and we just sit by the door and watch the people go by. Other days, everyone comes in at once and it gets a bit chaotic. We try to keep things organized on the shelves but it’s hard when you have so much coming in and out. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to get it done. My brother helps out sometimes when things get busy. We know most of the other shop owners on Hill Street. We share news and sometimes help each other out with change or moving heavy boxes. Ranigunj is a place where everyone is just trying to make a living. We don't do any big marketing or anything like that. People just find us by walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor. It’s a simple shop and we like it that way. We stay open until late most nights before finally heading back home.
