R L Tanna Fabric

Our shop is right there in Tobacco Bazaar on the first floor. It’s Floor No. 103, inside 3-4-385. If you know the bazaar, you know it gets crowded and noisy, but that’s the spirit of the place. We’ve been handling fabrics here for quite some time. R L Tanna Fabric isn’t some big showroom with air conditioning; it’s more about the piles of cloth and the smell of new material. We spend most of our time folding things back up after customers have a look. It’s a lot of work on the feet all day. The stairs up to the first floor can be a bit steep if you aren't used to them. We see all kinds of people coming through looking for specific things for their homes or for making clothes. We try to keep a good variety so there is always something to show. It’s a small space, so things get a bit cramped when a lot of stock arrives. We just move things around and make it work. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, other days we don’t even have time for tea. It’s a good living. Most of our regulars have been coming to this part of the bazaar for years. We don't bother with fancy ads. People just find us or hear about us from their cousins. We keep the books by hand mostly because it's easier. It’s a crowded shop but it has everything we need to keep going.
