Devi Inc.

Devi Inc. is based at Plot No. 60 in Naya Kranti Nagar, which is near the ECIL P.O. area. It is a bit of a distance from the main parts of the city, but it is a good location for us to get things done. The plot is just a regular piece of land with a simple two-story building on it. We have a small yard out front where we park our scooters and sometimes keep empty crates for a few days. The ground floor is where most of the manual work happens, and we use the upper floor for the desks and filing cabinets. We don't have air conditioning, so the ceiling fans stay on all day to keep the air moving. The walls are a bit stained from the rain over the years, but it doesn't bother us. We start our work early in the morning to beat the heat. The street outside is usually quiet, except for when the postman or a delivery truck comes by. We know the people working in the other plots nearby and we often chat for a minute in the mornings. We don't have a big staff or a fancy way of answering the phones. Usually, whoever is closest to the phone just picks it up and talks. It is a very normal, everyday business. We just show up, do what needs to be done, and head home in the evening.
