Basaveshwar Nagar is a busy place, and our shop at 17 Ground Floor is right in the middle of it. If you walk down 6th Main in the KHB Colony, you will see our sign. It is a bit worn out now. We spend most of our mornings unpacking boxes and trying to keep the dust off the monitors. Being on the ground floor helps because we do not have to carry heavy CPU towers up any stairs. The 2nd Stage area has changed a lot lately, but our corner stays pretty much the same. There are always a few motherboards sitting on the front desk waiting for parts. Sometimes the tea man from across the street brings over a tray while we are halfway through a repair. We have got some old chairs for people to sit on if they are waiting, though they are not the most comfortable things in the world. Usually, the fan is humming in the background while someone clicks away at a keyboard. It is a simple setup here in Bangalore. We do not have fancy glass partitions or anything like that. Just a few desks, plenty of screwdrivers, and a lot of tangled wires that we try to organize every Friday. By the time evening rolls around and the traffic on 6th Main gets heavy, we are usually just finishing up with the last few jobs of the day. It gets loud outside, but inside it is just us and the machines. Sometimes we forget to turn off the lights in the back, but we usually remember before locking up the gate.
