Swaroop Poultry

You have to head out to Bhuyachiwadi to find Swaroop Poultry. We are in the Perale area of Satara district. It’s a quiet place, mostly surrounded by hills and fields. Being out here means we have plenty of space for the birds. The day starts at five in the morning when the roosters start making noise. There is always plenty to do, from feeding to cleaning out the sheds. It’s a lot of physical labor and your boots are always getting dirty. We don't have a big corporate office; we just work from the farm itself. The weather out here in Satara can be a bit unpredictable, so we’re always keeping an eye on the sky. When the rains come, the roads get a bit muddy, but we manage to get our deliveries out anyway. It’s a family operation and we all chip in where we can. We aren't trying to be the biggest poultry farm around, just trying to raise healthy birds. Most of the local people know us by name. It’s a simple way of living and working. We don't spend much time on the computer or fancy phones. We’re usually too busy out in the sheds or checking the feed supplies. It’s just life on the farm. We have some dogs that help keep watch at night, and they're part of the team too.
