Kalanand Dairy Private Limited is based in Satara. Specifically, we are at Shri Madhav Dadu Gaikwad’s place. It’s on the Rahimatpur Naharwadi Road in the village of Naharwadi. This is under the Koregaon taluka. We are a small dairy operation. Milk collection happens every morning and evening. The trucks come by and we get to work. It is a routine that never stops. Even when it rains hard in Maharashtra, we are here. The 415501 area is mostly farming land. Most of the people who bring their milk to us are known to us. A few tanks and some basic testing equipment are what we have. It isn't a factory. More of a community hub for the dairy farmers around here is what it feels like. Sometimes we sit on the porch and talk about the rain or the price of fodder. Keeping our records straight in our notebooks is a daily task. My uncle used to do this before us. Now we are carrying it on. A website is something we don't have. Just our name on the wall is enough. People know us because we’ve been here for years. Being reliable is the main thing. If the milk is there, we are there. Big promises are not made here. The daily work is done and we hope for a good season. It's a quiet life in Satara and we are happy here.
