Hotel Ginger Pune is actually located in Krishna Nagar which is near Umraj in the Karad area of Satara. The address says 415109 for the pin code. It’s funny because the name says Pune but we’re a bit of a drive away from the main city. We’re right near Ranjeet Timber so that’s the best landmark if you’re driving down the highway and getting lost. The hotel is a practical place for people who are traveling and just need a bed that isn't lumpy. We don’t have gold-plated faucets or anything like that. It’s just clean rooms and a staff that knows how to check you in without making a fuss. The area around here in Satara is quite nice, especially when it’s green after the rains. We see a lot of people passing through on their way to other places. The lobby is usually quiet in the afternoons but it picks up in the evening when everyone pulls in from the road. We spend a lot of time making sure the laundry is done and the kitchen has enough stuff for breakfast. It’s a lot of work running a hotel out here but we’ve got a good rhythm going. Sometimes the power flinches and we have to switch the generator on. It’s just how things go in this part of the district. We keep it simple and focus on the basics.
