We are located on Banjari Road, and if you can find the Vishwakarma Temple, you’ve basically found Shemrock Junior School. Being so close to the temple means we hear the bells and the prayers every day, which is actually quite nice for the atmosphere. The school itself is for the younger ones, so it’s usually a bit more chaotic than a regular school might be. We have bright colors on the walls to make it look a bit more cheerful, even if the paint is starting to chip in a few places near the floor. The rooms are filled with small tables and chairs that are just the right size for little kids. We spend a lot of time cleaning up toys and putting things back in bins at the end of every day. Banjari Road is pretty busy, so we have to be very careful at the gate when parents are coming and going with their vehicles. There’s a small shop next door that sells sweets, which is always a temptation for the kids on their way home. Inside, there is always the sound of someone singing or a group of children talking all at once. It’s a noisy place, but that’s just how it is with junior schools. We have a small area outside where they can run around for a bit, but it’s not very big at all. We just do our best with the space we have and try to keep everyone happy and busy until their parents come to pick them up.
