Guru Harkrishan Girls College

Our college is situated on Malerkotla Road in Sangrur. It is a familiar sight for anyone traveling that way. We have a large gate and a building that has seen many years of students passing through. Every morning, the road gets busy with girls arriving for their classes, many coming on the local buses from villages further out. We have a courtyard where everyone gathers for the morning assembly before heading off to the various classrooms. The rooms are basic but they have enough space for everyone. We have a library that stays quite busy, especially when exams are coming up. The atmosphere is generally quite calm, though it gets lively during the lunch hour when everyone is outside. We spend our days managing the schedule, looking after the building, and making sure the students have what they need for their studies. It is a place that feels safe and steady. The staff members are mostly locals who have been part of the Sangrur community for a long time. We don't use a lot of fancy technology in the office, just the usual computers and a lot of paper files. The trees along the boundary provide some nice shade during the hotter months. It is just a dedicated space for education that has become a staple of the Malerkotla Road area over the years.
