Our group, Adhaleshwar Farmers Producer Company Limited, operates right out of the Sangamner area. You can find us at Shrikant Vitthal Kadlag’s place in Kadlag village. It is not some big fancy office with glass windows and air conditioning. It’s just where we meet to talk about the season and our crops. Most of us here have been farming these lands for years, dealing with the same issues every time the rain is late or the market prices drop too low. We decided to get together because doing things alone was getting harder. Sangamner is known for its farming, but usually, the individual farmer gets the short end of the stick. By coming together as a company, we try to handle our own seeds, fertilizers, and selling. It’s a lot of work and we are still learning the paperwork side of things. Sometimes we make mistakes with the forms or the timing, but we know the land better than anyone else. We are just a bunch of neighbors and local growers trying to make sure our families can keep farming for a long time. Shrikant’s house serves as the main point where we gather to talk. If you come by, you’ll probably see a few of us sitting around discussing the onion prices or how the milk collection is going this week. It isn't a corporate setup at all. We use our own tractors and our own hands. We just wanted a name for what we were already doing as a community.
