Our setup is called Gafir Husain Farmer Producer Company Limited and we are located in Govindpursambhal. It’s basically run from Gafir Husain’s place. If you know the area, you know it’s mostly fields and hardworking people. We got together because farming on your own can be a real headache sometimes. By joining up, we can figure out the best way to handle our produce and share the load. It's a lot of manual work and long hours under the sun, but that's what we are used to. We don't have any big corporate backing or anything like that. It’s just us neighbors in Govindpursambhal trying to make a living from the land. Sometimes we sit around and talk about the price of things or how the soil is looking this year. There’s always work to be done, from the time we sow the seeds until everything is harvested and ready. We try to keep things simple and honest. No one here is trying to be fancy. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of and the crops are growing well. The days are long and sometimes the crops don't do what they are supposed to, but we keep at it. Everyone involved knows the ground here really well. We’ve been part of this community for a long time and this company is just a way for us to stay connected. We’ve seen many seasons come and go, so we know when to push hard.
