We have been operating Sri Sakthivel Travels from Gorimedu for a while now. Most people know us because we are right near Mgr Nagar in the Chinna Thirupathi area of Salem. It’s just a regular local business where we handle bookings and trips for people who need to get from one place to another. Dealing with traffic and schedules is what we do every day. Sometimes things get busy, especially during festival times when everyone wants to go home or visit relatives, but we just manage it. The office is easy to find if you are walking around the neighborhood. We mostly just talk to locals and help them figure out the best time to leave to avoid the heat or the worst of the traffic. It isn’t a fancy setup, just a desk and some chairs and a lot of phone calls. We’ve seen Salem change over the years, more cars and bigger roads now. Our spot in Gorimedu stays pretty much the same though. People stop by to ask about rates or just to check if a car is available for the weekend. We try to keep things straightforward and honest with everyone. If a driver is going to be ten minutes late because of the rain, we just say so. There’s no point in making up stories. It’s a lot of work keeping everything moving, but it is what we know. We are just part of the local community here, trying to make sure people get where they need to go.
