Yercaud

Yercaud is our little project based at the Maheswari General Store. Most folks know us by the store name, but the official name on the paper is Yercaud. It’s located in a spot where you can see the whole valley on a clear day. We have a bit of everything on our shelves. People come in for their daily needs, maybe some milk or some snacks. We know most of the faces that walk through the door. It is a quiet life here in the hills. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing plan. We just open the doors early in the morning and stay until things quiet down at night. Sometimes the weather gets a bit foggy, but that is just part of living up here. We like being the place where people can grab what they forgot to buy elsewhere. It is a simple general store setup. We don't try to be anything else. If the shelves are a bit dusty or things are piled up, it is just because we are busy helping someone. We've been at this for a while and we plan to stay. It is honest work. You won't find any corporate slogans here. Just a local shop run by local people. We are part of the daily rhythm here. It's just a simple life running a business in a beautiful place, and we wouldn't change it.
