Pure Silk Sarees

Bazaar Street is always loud, and our shop, Pure Silk Sarees, is right in the middle of all that noise. You can hear the rickshaws honking and people shouting outside from the moment we open the shutters in the morning. The shop itself is narrow, filled with shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling. We have stacks of sarees wrapped in plastic and some just sitting out so people can feel the weight of the silk. It’s a bit dusty because of the street, so we’re constantly wiping down the counters and tidying up the piles that get messy during the day. We don’t have fancy displays, just some old wooden racks and a few chairs for people to sit on while they look through the colors. Usually, it's just a few of us here, folding things back up or talking to the regulars who stop by to see if anything new came in. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a quick break, but mostly we’re busy moving things around. The floor is a bit uneven in the back, but we know where to step. People know us because we’ve been on Bazaar Street for a long time now. It’s a simple setup, and it gets hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the shop, but it’s where we work. We just focus on keeping the shelves full and making sure the silk stays clean.
