Shree Yashodha Silks

You can find our shop at No. 83-2 in Sakthi Nagar, right opposite the Honda showroom near the Seelanaickenpatty Bypass. It’s a good location because people can easily pull over when they’re traveling on the bypass. We’ve been dealing in silks for quite some time now. The shop isn't very large, but we try to keep a good variety of fabrics on the shelves. It’s mostly just us and a few staff members who have been with us for years. We spend a lot of time unfolding and folding sarees for the people who come in. It can get a bit tiring on the feet, but we enjoy talking to the customers. We don't really do any big advertising or have a polished corporate image. People usually find us because they live nearby or they saw the sign while driving past the Honda dealer. The lighting inside is okay, though we could probably use some brighter bulbs in the back corner. We keep our records in a big ledger and on a small computer we got a few years ago. It’s a simple way of doing business, and it’s worked for us so far. We like being part of the Sakthi Nagar community and seeing familiar faces return to the shop every now and then for special occasions. It is a nice way to spend the day, surrounded by all these different colors.
