It’s a bit tucked away but people seem to find their way here easily enough. We started this service because we knew the area well and saw that people needed help with their trips. It’s a local operation, nothing too big or complicated. We spend our days looking at routes and talking to people about their travel plans. The office has a few desks and a lot of paper everywhere. Sometimes the kids from the school nearby make a lot of noise when they are heading home, which usually lets us know it’s almost evening. We don't have a big marketing team or fancy logos. We just answer the door and help whoever walks in. Sometimes it’s a family planning a visit to another district, other times it’s just someone needing a ride for work. We try to be practical about everything. If a road is closed or a bus is late, we tell people straight. Salem is a place where word of mouth matters more than anything else, so we just focus on doing the job right. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for when the phone starts ringing non-stop. We’ve stayed in Azad Nagar because it feels like home and the people around here are good neighbors to have.
