Our textile centre is located at 78 Sababathi Street in the Kalarampatty area of Erumapalayam. It is a place where the sound of the looms is the main thing you notice as soon as you arrive. We have been working with textiles in this spot for a long time. The building is a bit older, but it provides plenty of space for the machinery and the large rolls of finished cloth. We aren't really interested in the corporate side of things. Most of us here are more comfortable on the workshop floor than sitting behind a desk. We spend our hours watching the threads and making sure the patterns are coming out the way they should. It is a job that requires a lot of patience and a good eye for detail. The air is often filled with a bit of lint, and it can get quite warm when all the machines are running at once. We have a small team of local people who know exactly how to handle the equipment. We don't have any fancy signs or advertisements. People in the textile trade know where we are and what we do. We just keep our heads down and focus on the production. It is a very traditional way of working, and we find that it suits us just fine. Every day is pretty much the same, but we like the consistency of it and the finished fabric we produce.
