Shanti Mission Academy

Shanti Mission Academy is found at Bariahi Bazar in Bangaon, which is in the Saharsa district. It is a rural setting, so things are a bit different here compared to the schools in the big cities. We are surrounded by fields and small local shops. Most of the kids who come here are from the nearby villages. They often walk or come on bicycles to get to their classes. The school building is basic, just a few blocks of rooms with benches and desks. We don't have any high-speed internet or fancy computer labs in every corner. We focus on the books and the teachers' explanations. The staff here are locals who understand the challenges of living in this part of Bihar. We deal with the seasons as they come, like the heavy rains that sometimes make the roads difficult to travel. During those times, we just do our best to keep the school open. The atmosphere is generally quiet, except during the lunch break when the kids are running around the bazar area. We don't have any big marketing plans or colorful brochures. We just rely on our reputation among the local families. People know us, and they send their children here because we are part of the community. It is a simple place with a lot of daily chores, but we are happy to work here.
