You will find Vijay Bharat Wood Crafts on Pilkantala Street, very close to the J.B.S, Girl Inter College. We’ve been in this location for a long time, and the sound of the school girls chatting or the bell ringing is just part of our daily background. Our workshop is always a bit of a mess with wood shavings on the floor and the strong smell of varnish and glue. We make things out of wood, ranging from small decorative items to larger pieces of furniture like tables or stools. My father was the one who started all of this, and I grew up learning how to handle the tools from him. We don’t have a website or any kind of online presence. People usually just find us because they live nearby or they’ve heard about us from someone else on the street. Pilkantala Street is a busy place, and we often have people stopping by just to watch us work for a minute. We use simple tools and local timber. We don’t try to make things look perfect or machine-made; we like it when the natural grain of the wood shows through. Sometimes a project takes longer than we expected because we want to get the joinery just right. We don’t rush our work. It’s a slow process, but that’s the way we like it. The other shopkeepers around here are like old friends, and we’ve all seen the neighborhood change together over the decades. It's home.
