Umarani

The place is in Vill. Daudpura, right by Post Babial Buzurg in the Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. It’s a rural area where things move at their own pace. Umarani is the name we use, and the house is known by Ombir Singh’s name locally. Life here is centered around the village and the seasons. We don't have a big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. Instead, we work from where we live. It’s a lot of community-based work and keeping things running in the village. Saharanpur is known for wood carving and other crafts, but here in Daudpura, it’s mostly about the land and small local businesses. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just what we need to get by day to day. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out or find something else to do in the yard. It’s an honest, simple way of living. We know everyone on our street and their families too. When we talk about what we do, it’s usually over a cup of tea in the courtyard. There’s no need for big marketing words because everyone knows who we are already. We just try to be helpful and do our part for the family and the village. The air is dusty in the summer and quite cold in the winter, but that’s just how it is in UP. We’re proud of where we’re from and the work we do right here at home.
