Aim Exports is over at Raghavpuram Colony, specifically at No. 104 in Lane No. 3. It’s more of a residential neighborhood, so it feels a lot different than the big industrial parks. You’ll see kids playing in the lane and neighbors drying clothes on their balconies. Our office is part of this community. We’ve got a small space where we coordinate all the shipping. It’s mostly us sitting around a couple of desks, keeping track of what’s going where. Since we are in a colony, we have to be careful about where the delivery vans park so we don't block the neighbors' cars. It’s a very hands-on operation. If a box needs taping, one of us does it. If a customer calls with a question, they talk to whoever picks up the phone. There’s no fancy automated system or departments. We just know what needs to be done and we do it. The office can get a bit warm in the afternoons, so we usually have the windows open, and you can hear the sounds of the colony—vendors calling out and birds chirping. It’s a quiet life in some ways, but the export business keeps us on our toes. We spend a lot of time double-checking addresses and weight measurements. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we’ve been doing it at this spot for a while now and we’ve found our own rhythm.
